we are currently evaluating using iphones instead of the current blackberry infrastructure. Our setup is a little complex as we need to have active sync connect to the exchange server via certificates. I understand that there are mdm solutions that can handle this ceritificate enrollment/update proccesses like mobileiron with a scp proxy that connects to the internal pki and pushes the certificate to the smartphone. However evaluating mdm solutions is the second step after evaluating the device itself and getting a management approval. I basically want to use the apple utility to bring a (user?) certificate to the device to see how logon via certificate generally works. I found out that i can bring certificates to the device but do not know how to make use of them to logon to exchange instead of user and password which is required during the normal interactive setup procedure on the device.
Anybody here who coud give me a hint.
